On Wednesday the 19th of February the year 6’s went to Waitangi for the whole day. We did heaps of different things like go to the new museum and using Ipads . Ipads that are a type of a Ipad with a keyboard that you can take on and off the Ipad and it also comes with a pen that can only work on the one Ipad thing that you have, they were also touch screen. The museum was super cool. We saw so much people that were related to us that fought in the world war one and two and that was so cool to see. It was really fun looking at all the maori people that fought for Aotearoa (New Zealand if you didn’t know). We learnt heaps of things and we all wished we could learn more things about all those people who died fighting for us. There wasn’t enough ipad services for us so I just used a chromebook so I don’t really know how they work that well. If you don’t know what the museum was about is about the Maori Battalion and it’s about maoris that fought for New Zealand. We all wished that we could go back and look at heaps more things and learn even more, I might be going again with some of my family. We learnt things on scratch and it was fun as well. We did heaps things and I really enjoyed it.
Kia Ora Yazmin, Thanks for your reflection on your visit to Waitangi and the Raranga Matihiko Programme. It is so great that you visited Te Rau Aroha to learn more about the Maori Battalion - it is such an amazing space. The next time you visit with your class, I am sure you will get to use one of ht iPads for your work. I do know that Scratch works well on any device and you can create a whole lot with Scratch. Thanks for sharing your reflections. Ngā mihi.
